An intriguing mold-formed terracotta oil lamp with a circular base, rounded shoulders, a recessed tondo with a small fill hole, and a wide wick spout adorned with volutes. The red-slipped vessel features a tondo displaying an erotic scene of a man and a woman on a cushioned bed, the woman with one leg held aloft and the man on his knees behind her. A sumptuous example of fine Roman artistry! Size: 4.05" L x 3" W x 1" H (10.3 cm x 7.6 cm x 2.5 cm).
