Roman, Imperial Period, ca. 1st to 4th century CE. A fragment from the exterior of a carved marble column, the vertical flutes well preserved and the ribs remaining at uniform height. Columns of this design would have been seen nearly everywhere throughout the ancient Roman Empire. Size: 1.75" L x 10.25" W x 7.5" H (4.4 cm x 26 cm x 19 cm)
