Rome, ca 1st to 3rd century CE. Precious bronze mirror with concentric grooves at the disk rim. Baluster-shaped handle with a screw thread to adhere a small sphere on the bottom. Nice spotted patina! Size: 4-1/4"H x 2-1/4" diameter for mirror itself. Provenance: Ex-Dr. Horst-Dietrich Ruessmann collection, Berlin, acquired in the 1930s. Thence German art market.
