Roman, Imperial Period, ca. 1st to 3rd century CE. A wearable ring with an ovoid bezel and a shank with bifurcated terminals, all formed from 83.3% gold (equivalent to 20K). Set inside the bezel is a hand-carved onyx intaglio featuring the heads of 2 figures in profile, each facing to the left, perhaps representing a husband and wife. Custom putty impression of intaglio included.
