Description:

Roman, early Imperial Period, ca. 1st to 2nd century CE. A wonderful free-blown jug formed from semi-translucent, pale blue-green glass with a slightly concave base, a spherical body, a lightly-indented shoulder, a cylindrical neck with an in-folded discoid rim, and a wide applied trail handle with a bulbous thumb rest. Though covered in weathering film, the vessel exhibits stunning layers of silvery and rainbow-hued iridescence which elegantly complement the vessel's fine turquoise hues. Size: 4.375" W x 4.7" H (11.1 cm x 11.9 cm).
