Description:

Roman, Imperial Period, ca. 2nd to 3rd century CE. A beautiful free blown glass jar of ovoid shape with a pearlescent green hue. This vessel sits on a concave base that flares into a rounded shoulder, narrow neck, collared rim, and rolled lip that leads to a deep interior cavity. The exterior has areas of rainbow iridescence that embellish its elegant form. Glass captivated the ancient mind with its unique translucent properties and this is a lovely example of Roman craftsmanship! Size: 2" W x 2.875" H (5.1 cm x 7.3 cm)
