Roman, Imperial Period, ca. 1st to 4th century CE. A vibrant necklace strung with over 50 ancient glass beads. The strand is symmetrically balanced with alternating types of beads; small, spherical glass beads in brown and yellow hues with larger "eye beads" that consist of yellow and blue millefiori patterns. At the center is a large white pendant eye bead with blue concentric circles. A lovely strand presenting eye-catching styles. The necklace is wearable and strung in modern times with a gold-plated toggle and loop clasp. Size of strand: 21" L (53.3 cm) pendant bead: .75" W (1.9 cm)
