Roman, Imperial period, ca. 1st century CE. A charming cup comprised of translucent, slightly blue glass, its graceful form with a curved profile, concave bottom, and wheel cut band around the middle of its walls. The rim is ground smooth. A lovely example with traces of pearlescent iridescence, made with a pleasing weight and shape to fit perfectly into the palm of your hand. You can easily imagine an ancient Roman swirling his or her wine in this glass! Size: 3.1" W x 2.25" H (7.9 cm x 5.7 cm)
