Description:

Roman, early Imperial Period, ca. 1st century CE. A fabulous glass cup, free-blown from semi-translucent green glass, with a short cylindrical form resting upon a lightly concave base. The exterior of the vessel exhibits a trio of wheel-cut striations coursing around the body, with a fourth striation just above the foot, and a fifth just below the rim. Though thick encrustations envelop the entire vessel, stunning areas of rainbow-hued iridescence adorn the surfaces. Size: 2.55" W x 3.125" H (6.5 cm x 7.9 cm).
