Description:

Roman, Imperial Period, ca. 2nd to 3rd century CE. A fine mold-formed cup formed from translucent glass of a pale blue-green hue. The vessel is comprised of a flat base, tall, thin walls, a deep interior cavity, and a lightly-indented, fire-polished rim. The exterior of the vessel has five thin, wheel-cut striations, one near the top and bottom, and three in the middle. This cup was perhaps once part of a larger beaker which, upon breaking, was repurposed into a functional drinking vessel. Size: 2.5" W x 3.7" H (6.4 cm x 9.4 cm).
