Description:

Roman, late Republic to early Imperial Period, ca. late 1st century BCE to 1st century CE. A fabulous bowl which is free-blown from translucent, amber-hued glass with a flat base, tall walls, a deep basin, and a thick rim. Two thin, wheel-etched striations embellish areas along the midsection as well as just beneath the rim. Fiery layers of silvery and rainbow-hued iridescence are scattered across the exterior surfaces, though the interior is coated with thick, brilliant iridescence which finely complements the elegant golden-brown hue. Size: 3.8" W x 2.7" H (9.7 cm x 6.9 cm).
