Roman, Imperial Period, ca. 1st to 3rd century CE. A gorgeous unguentarium of an elongated 'candlestick' form, free-blown from partially translucent glass of blue-green hues. Its form is comprised of bell-shaped body, a corseted neckline followed by a tall slender slightly tapered neck, and a wide flaring rim with a folded lip - all upon a concave base. The vessel's verdant hue's are elegantly complemented by layers of silver and fiery rainbow iridescence. Size: 6.375" H (16.2 cm)

Provenance: private New York, New York, USA collection; ex-private collection of an optometrist, New Jersey, USA, acquired in the 1960s to 1970s
