Roman empire, western Europe, 3rd to 4th century CE. Cast leaded bronze figure of Tyche/ Fortuna, once holding cornucopia in her left hand, flowing garment and large diadem adorning. Fortuna (Roman) or Tyche (Greek) was the goddess of good fortune and personification of prosperity. Size: 4.25" H (10.8 cm); 6" H (15.2 cm) on included custom stand.

XR analysis has been conducted on this statue and shows a mineral composition of 54% lead, 30% tin, 8% iron and 7% copper - consistent with statues made during this time period of the Roman empire.

Provenance: private Southern California collection, California, USA, purchased from the estate of Steven Wilson, Westlake Village, California, USA, August 2024. Wilson collected primarily between 1960 and 2000.
