Description:

Roman, Imperial Period, ca. 1st to 3rd century CE. A beautiful ring with an ovoid bronze face and a high-grade (95%) silver band secured along the tapered terminals with a pair of petite copper spheres. The ring face features an incised geometric pattern showing two mirrored triangles with curled lateral tips as well as pointed bodies that enclose a fret-filled 'X' with a miniature central circle. Lustrous espresso-hued patina has formed across the ring face and terminals. A fabulous example of wearable Roman fashion! Amethyst fragments for photography purposes only.   • Condition: Wearable as shown. Bronze is ancient, and silver and copper spheres are modern. Minor abrasions to ring body and ovoid face, with light softening to some incised details on face, otherwise intact and very good. Beautiful patina throughout.
