Description:

Pre-Columbian, northern Mexico, Zacatecas (Chalchihuites/Alta Vista/Chichimeca), ca. 200 BCE to 200 CE. A pottery figure of a seated woman, her legs bent and her hands resting on her waist. Her head is large relative to her body, open at the top, with large, extended, pierced ears that may have once been decorated with feathers or gold rings. The body is painted red while the legs and head are tan. Ceramics from this culture are rarely found. Size: 3" W x 5.95" H (7.6 cm x 15.1 cm)
