Description:

Roman Empire, Levant, ca. 3rd century CE. Rare and lovely glass unguent - used to hold precious oils - in a form commonly called Candlestick due to it looking much like a candle holder. Clear glass with very wide base and wide nearly straight neck and flared rim. The space between the top and bottom of the lower section is minimal perhaps giving the impression of greater volume than this actually could hold. Size: 6" W x 4.25" H (15.2 cm x 10.8 cm)
