Description:

Pre-Columbian, Mayan Territories, ca. 500 to 900 CE. So rare to find a matching pair, and just imagine how much workmanship was required to create each of these jade, floral-shaped ear spools! Both earflares present eight rounded petals with a sinuous, wavelike incised design meandering from petal to petal. In addition to the fine artistry exhibited, the stone carved for each ear spool is inherently beautiful, of deep green hues with marvelous white intrusions. At the risk of repetition, it is extremely RARE to find a matching pair, and the level of skill and technique it took to create these given the limited tools available during this time is beyond impressive! Size: .625" deep x 1.875" in diameter (1.6 cm x 4.8 cm)
