Description:

Central Europe, Bronze Age, ca. late 2nd to early 1st millennium BCE. A cast bronze dagger with a heavy, rounded handle. The surface of the handle is decorated with a low relief design of interlocked waves. The handle is capped by a round disc with a bulbous projection. At the base of the projection is a small hole, presumably used to hang this from a belt. The handle is relatively short, as if made for a small hand - perhaps belonging to a woman. The blade is simple and triangular, with a low ridge up its center. It fits neatly into the wide shaft of the handle. Size: 2.05" W x 6.6" H (5.2 cm x 16.8 cm)
