Northwestern Europe, Anglo-Viking, ca. 9th to 11th century CE. A stunning gilt-silver headband or diadem, elegantly etched with intricate interlacing knotwork and accented by three raised nubs. The terminal ends are pierced, likely for securing with a cord. While head coverings were primarily worn by women, high-status men also wore headbands.
