Ancient Egypt, Ptolemaic to early Roman Period, ca. 2nd to 1st century BCE. A mold-formed terracotta female from a larger figure, perhaps a worshipper of Aphrodite, bearing ample remains of white, pink, and blue pigment. The vibrant decorations are indicative of just how elaborate the whole figure would have appeared, and the finer details exposed beneath the colors are nearly as sharp as in antiquity. Size: 1.2" L x 2.25" W x 3.125" H (3 cm x 5.7 cm x 7.9 cm); 4.125" H (10.5 cm) on included custom stand.
Exhibited at the Minneapolis Museum of Art with the Lily Place collection, 1928 to 1958, ref. no. 28.24.88; at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) from 1986 to 1991; in the University of Arizona Museum of Art, October 1993 to December 1993; and in the Robert and Frances Fullerton Museum of Art (RAFFMA), California State University, San Bernardino from 1996 to 2023, reference number EL01.184.1996.

- Condition: Loss to head as shown. Nicks and abrasions to finer details and pigment, with minor softening to some finer details, otherwise in great condition. Nice preservation to color of original pigment in several areas. Head is adhered to display stand and cannot be removed. Lily Place number visible on verso behind coiffure.
