Description:

Native American, United States, Missouri, Transitional Archaic Period, ca. 1st millennium CE. A pair of spear tips, both impressively hand-knapped from creamy beige chert stone. Each lanceolate weapon boasts a leaf-shaped form with a convex base. Presenting a light tinge of warm orange, the first point presents a horizontal transverse flaking pattern with an excurvate blade and a serrated edge. On the other hand, the second tip showcases a tint of pale pink with an inward recurvate blade, a serrated edge, a flattened cross section, and a random flaking pattern. Size of largest (slightly orange): 5" L x 1.9" W (12.7 cm x 4.8 cm); (Riker case): 12.2" L x 8.2" W (31 cm x 20.8 cm)
