Native American, North America, New Mexico, Arizona and Northern Mexico, Mogollon, Anasazi Culture, ca. 1100-1200. Mogollon pottery was created with iron-rich volcanic clays which fire to dark brown using the coil-and-scrape technique. This example was then painted with a black on white decorative program in what is known as the Tularosa Style. Designs in the Tularosa Style include spiraled formations as well as a stair step motif. Provenance: Ex-Hagen Collection, acquired in the 1940s on private land. All items legal to buy/sell under U.S. Statute covering cultural patrimony Code 2600, CHAPTER 14, and are guaranteed to be as described or your money back.   • Condition: Some loss and repair to upper portion of vessel, but retains vivid paint and form and intact.
