FIRST TIME AT AUCTION!

Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, ca. 2000 to 1000 BCE. This is a nicely shaped, smoothed hand axe made of a grey volcanic stone. Made for ceremonial displays of power and probably buried with its owner, this item bears none of the markings of having been used, but would have been made to emulate actual hand axes, some of the most important tools in prehistoric West Mexico. Size: 8.8" L x 2.9" W x 1.25" H (22.4 cm x 7.4 cm x 3.2 cm)

Provenance: Ex-Historia Gallery, Santa Monica, CA.

All items legal to buy/sell under U.S. Statute covering cultural patrimony Code 2600, CHAPTER 14, and are guaranteed to be as described or your money back.
