Description:

Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, Jalisco and Nayarit, ca. 300 BCE to 300 CE. A collection of hand-built pottery figures from Ancient Mexico. The largest is a redware Nayarit style person seated on pointed feet, with broad shoulders, oversized elongated head with vent hole at the top, and the surface painted with white and black motifs. The next is a San Sebastian style seated male figure with slender bent limbs, impressed facial details, and vent hole on verso. The other redware is an Ixtlan Del Rio style woman with a round object, likely a pot or lidded basket upon her shoulder. The other flat woman figure is painted with horizontal banding and an abstract head with prominent flared headdress. Size of largest: 4.25" L x 2.5" W x 7.25" H (10.8 cm x 6.4 cm x 18.4 cm)
