Description:

Pre-Columbian, Colombia, La Tolita/Tumaco, ca. 500 BCE to 500 CE. An ancient pottery stamp with an intricately detailed design depicting three nearly identical abstract figures, each one squatting with upraised arms and bent knees as if engaged in a dance or standing ready to receive a thrown or kicked ball. Utterly charming! Given its curved profile, this rare pottery stamp was most likely used to decorate human limbs. Size: 2.75" W x 1.25" H (7 cm x 3.2 cm)
