Description:

Pre-Columbian, Northwestern Argentina, La Aguada / Aquada culture, ca. 700 to 1000 CE. A hand-built and highly burnished greyware pottery vessel resting on 3 feet with a very deep bowl incised with stippled marks and lines just under the rim. The feet are actually hollow with tiny pebbles inside that to act as rattles. This may have been a ceramonial piece for rituals, the rattling feet for summoning rain or honoring other forces. Size: 8.25" L x 5" W x 5.5" H (21 cm x 12.7 cm x 14 cm)
