Description:

Pre-Columbian, South Coast Peru, Ica culture, ca. 800 to 1200 CE. A delightful ceramic vessel in the form of two squash, joined at one side, with a broad strap handle between them and a short, flaring spout projecting from the center of one. The body is creamy white, with black fineline decoration giving them a more squash-like appearance; the spout and handle are earthy red with thick black stripes around the body. Size: 4.75" W x 3.75" H (12.1 cm x 9.5 cm)

Provenance: private southern California, USA collection, acquired in 1968 to 1970
