Fragment of a sash featuring a series of mask-like visages woven from camelid fibers in hues of red, white, black, and caramel brown with cotton under stitching mounted on black museum-quality linen. Wonderfully bright and vivid hues and iconography! Textile itself measures 20-3/4"L (52.75 cm) x 3-1/2"W (~9 cm). Provenance: Ex-private Hawaii collection; Ex-Westermann Collection, Germany, acquired in 1950s.
