Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, Michoacan area, post-Classic period, ca. 1200 to 1521 CE (jar); West Mexico, pre-Classic period, ca. 300 BCE to 300 CE ("teapot"). A pair of complementary pottery items, made in the same place, but a millennia apart.The larger presents tall, straight walls that resolve in a scalloped rim. The other is a "teapot" form with a round body resembling a squash. It has two mouths, one wide, on a large, round spout rising from the center, and the other narrow, rising from the top of the handle. Size: 6.9" W x 4.9" H (17.5 cm x 12.4 cm)

Provenance: Ex-Adeon Gallery, Chicago, IL, acquired prior to 1970.
