A beautiful pedestal bowl resting on a flared foot with a tall neck, covered in a cream slip decorated with interlacing curvilinear motifs in red and black. By using a bit of imagination one can see an abstract reptilian or insect motif on the interior of the bowl, with spiny or barbed darts that hint at the dangerous or protective symbolism of the creature.
