Description:

Pre-Columbian, Colombia, Capuli Complex, Carchi-Narino, ca. 850 to 1500 CE; Central America, Panama, Gran Cocle culture, ca. 400 to 1000 CE. A pair of hand-built pottery vessels with bold motifs: a Cocle jar of a petite size and a Narino dish upon a pedestal foot. Both are slipped in a creamy beige-tan hue and painted with linear and geometric motifs in black. The jar has a round but stable base, a spherical body, and bulbous neck. The dish has a deep, slightly conical basin, the rim and foot slipped in a red hue. Size: 7.5" Diameter x 3.5" H (19 cm x 8.9 cm)
