Roman, Imperial Period, ca. 1st to 3rd century CE. A beautiful pair of matching gold and glass earrings displaying impressive artistry and refinement. Each earring is comprised of a gold hoop with a long dangler comprised of carefully worked interlocking gold loops that culminate in an elegant green glass bead. Not only stunning, but also wearable as these have been fitted with modern French hooks. Size of each (both are relatively similar): 0.55" W x 1.75" H (1.4 cm x 4.4 cm); 2.125" H (5.4 cm) including earwires; (largest bead): 0.2" H (0.5 cm); quality of precious metal: 42% gold (equivalent to 10K+) and 55% silver; total weight: 2.3 grams. Added earwires are 14K gold plated sterling silver.

  • Condition: Wearable as shown as fitted with modern French hooks. Both earrings have slight bending to wire bodies and ornaments, with minor nicks to glass beads, otherwise intact and very good. Nice patina across gold and glass.
