Description:

Roman, Imperial Period, 2nd to 3rd century CE. A lovely pair of six-sided Roman dice, hand carved from creamy beige bovine bone. Both are skillfully incised with the numbers one through six in donut shaped motifs, as we suppose carving Roman numerals at this scale would have been quite a challenge! These playful gaming objects highlight the universality of gaming across cultures and centuries! Just imagine the ancients tossing them to generate a random combination of numbers! Size: .3125" L x .3125" W x .25" H (0.8 cm x 0.8 cm x 0.6 cm) and 3125" L x .375" W x .25" H (0.8 cm x 1 cm x 0.6 cm)
