Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, Colima, one a Coahuayana Valley type, ca. 300 BCE to 300 CE. A standing male terracotta figure with a solid, angular body elaborately adorned with a headband, ear ornaments, a beaded pectoral, and coil-formed fittings around his middle and groin befitting the ceremonial ballgame. Standing calmly with hands placed on abdomen, this gent presents a tranquil countenance with a protruding nose, coffee bean shaped eyes and mouth. Paired with this is a standing female figure with emphasized breasts and genitalia, an expressive visage comprised of coffee bean eyes and mouth and a protruding nose, and donning an elaborate headdress and earspools. Size: male figure measures 5.125" H (13 cm)
