Description:

Roman, Imperial Period, ca. 2nd to 3rd century CE. A gorgeous duo of free-blown glass jars of petite forms and turquoise-hued colorations. First is a squat vessel with a slight concave base and rough pontil, a five-sided body with shallow indentations, a tubular neck, and a rolled rim. Second is a slightly-taller vessel with a concave base and smooth pontil, a cylindrical body, a wide neck with a single applied rigaree band, and a wide mouth with a rolled rim. Both vessels exhibit beautiful layers of fiery, rainbow-hued iridescence in hues of violet, sapphire, emerald, citrine, gold, and aquamarine. A stunning set! Size of largest (example with rigaree band): 2.375" H (6 cm).
