Late Roman, Byzantine or Langobardic culture, ca. 5th to 8th century CE. A gorgeous high quality gold earring with delicate filigree, coiled wires, and chain links dangling from the circular face. The earring is made from 82.8% gold (equivalent to 19K+) and a modern 14K gold plated hook is attached to the original clasp making this ancient earring wearable!
