Description:

Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, Tlatilco or Olmec, ca. 600 BCE. This is a small seated female figure, with large thighs and an oversized, ovoid head. The Olmec and Tlatilco are often considered the ancestors of much Mesoamerican art and this figure is an artistic precursor to the more famous West Mexican shaft tomb figurines, and the comparisons - and differences - are clear in the style. Size: 3.2" W x 3.75" H (8.1 cm x 9.5 cm)
