Pre-Columbian, Mexico, Veracruz region, Olmec culture, ca. 1000 to 800 BCE. A lovely blackware bowl featuring a slightly concave base and curved walls incised with a band of abstract pseudo-glyphs beneath a register of lattice pattern just below the rim. All is polished to a lustrous burnish. Size: 5.9" L x 6.3" W x 3.2" H (15 cm x 16 cm x 8.1 cm)

  • Professionally repaired with restoration and repainting over break lines, though a few are still visible in some areas. Chip to rim as shown as well as light surface wear. Otherwise, nice presentation with good preservation of incised decoration and lustrous burnish.
