Description:

North America, United States, ca. late 20th century CE, by artist Hib Sabin (b. 1935). An expertly hand-carved juniper wood mask depicting a shape-shifting raven, a raven with half of its head covered in feathers and color while the other is stark white as if exposed to the bone. The lengthy beak exhibits wonderful graining that stands out beneath the glossy sheen. A wedge-shaped waddle beneath the beak enables the mask to stand upright unassisted. Size: 8.5" L x 4.8" W x 4.25" H (21.6 cm x 12.2 cm x 10.8 cm)
