Northern Europe, Scandinavia, Sweden / Finland, ca. 1 million years ago. A piece of the Muonionalusta meteorite polished into a near perfect sphere and set in a sterling silver setting. The Muonionalusta meteorite impacted earth about a million years ago and is renowned for its distinctive Widmanstatten patterns, formed by the slow cooling of the iron and nickel alloys. The first known pieces were collected in 1906, and fragments have become highly sought-after as both raw specimens and jewelry. This pendant was designed and made by jewelers at Sky Gemstone, the setting was made by casting the silver in beans / peas to create the organic formation and the pendant has a tiny loop welded to the verso for suspension. The multistrand wire necklace is stainless steel and removable.
