Pre-Columbian, Central Coast of Peru, Chimu, ca. 1000 to 1400 CE. A wearable necklace strung with dozens of turquoise, lapis / sodalite, greenstone, quartz, black stone, and orange spondylus beads, as well as gold faces and spheres. The hollow-molded faces and spheres are shaped from a 44.5% to 48.9% gold foil. The central focal point is a pair of thin nacre panels set above a hollow silver sphere, turquoise nugget, and lavender hued lapis bead. Size of strand doubled: 23" L (58.4 cm); silver sphere pendant: 0.8" Diameter (2 cm); gold quality: 44.5% to 48.9% (equivalent to 10K+ to 11K+); silver quality: 27% to 34%

  • Condition: Wearable as shown and strung in modern times on a monofilament wire. Tiny gold spacer beads under the faces are modern. Larger gold spheres, stone, shells, and gold face beads are ancient. Minor nicks and chips to some stone beads, with small indentations and light abrasions to gold faces and silver sphere bead, otherwise intact and very good.
