Description:

Native American, Southwestern United States, Anasazi (Ancestral Puebloans), ca. 1100 to 1300 CE. A fine pottery mug of a miniature form shaped via the traditional coil-and-scrape technique. The surface is painted with faint vertical lines and horizontal bands on the handle. The area where this piece has been repaired in modern times, has 2 drilled holes that were perhaps from an ancient method of repair. To prevent further cracking, holes were drilled on either side of the fissure and a wet sinew cord was tightly tied, pulling the pieces together. Size: 3.5" Diameter x 4.25" H (8.9 cm x 10.8 cm)
