Description:

Ancient Near East, Middle East, the Levant, Proto-Literate Period, ca. 3000 to 2500 BCE. A steatite cachet seal bead with an ovoid face and a domed body pierced through for suspension as a bracelet or necklace. The face has been incised to feature two zoomorphs- possibly birds or quadrupeds, with elongated necks and legs that stand facing each other and linear markings as foliage or feathers in the background. Included is a putty stamp of the seal motif. Size: 0.5" L x 0.3" W (1.3 cm x 0.8 cm); 2.5" H (6.4 cm) on included custom stand.
