Pre-Columbian, southern Peru, Nazca, ca. 200 to 400 CE. An attractive pottery kero decorated in polychrome in three bands. Top and lower bands depict trophy heads in profile with top band shown placed on the back of their heads, long feathered headdress extending to their left. Lower band also shown on the back of the heads, with headdresses shown bent over below. Central band of larger trophy heads with each sideways, string shown sewing the mouths shut, each with long hair and spear-like tassels. An interesting example! Size: 6" W x 6" H (15.2 cm x 15.2 cm)
