Pre-Columbian, Veracruz, Mexico, ca. 400 to 600 CE. A classic pottery head of a warrior, once part of a larger and probably full figure sculpture. Large headdress with three bands decorated with added 'buttons', mouth open exposing upper teeth, eyes and chin decorated with added black bitumen pigments. A very handsome example! Custom stand. Size: 6.75" W x 7" H (17.1 cm x 17.8 cm) not including height of stand.
