Pre-Columbian, Peru, South Coast, Nazca, ca. 200 BCE - 600 CE. This vessel displays four interlocking images of a Nazca deity, two in an upright position nested between two in an upside down position. According to Ferdinand Anton, the long tongue indicates that this figure may represent the Nazca rain god or earth god in human shape.
