Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, Nayarit, ca. 300 BCE to 300 CE. A handbuilt terracotta standing woman holding an offering bowl. She presents an expressive visage comprised of coffee bean shaped eyes, a protruding nose adorned with a nose ring, an open mouth, and large ears, and wears a headband and skirt. Wonderful cream and black painted details remain over the dark orange slip. A lovely example! Size: 4.75" W x 7.25" H (12.1 cm x 18.4 cm)
