Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, Nayarit, ca. 300 BCE to 300 CE. A hollow-built pottery figure depicted seated upon delineated legs while wearing a small skirt. Her nude upper body displays globular breasts and outstretched arms, and a thick neck supports an oversized head replete with almond eyes and a prominent nose. Large ears are adorned with a trio of earrings, and her body is decorated in applied tan, red, and black pigments. Size: 4.55" W x 6.75" H (11.6 cm x 17.1 cm).

  • Condition: Repair to figure's right arm with small chips and light adhesive residue along break lines. Restoration to both hands and one foot. Surface wear commensurate with age, small chips to base, legs, arms, body, and head, with fading to some areas of pigmentation, and light roughness across most surfaces. Nice earthen and mineral deposits throughout.
