Description:

Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, Nayarit, Chinesco type, ca. 300 BCE to 300 CE. A hand-built and highly burnished pottery bowl with a planar base, tall walls, and a thick rim surrounding the deep basin. Russet lines sprawl across the exterior of the beige-hued body, and a circle of tightly-grouped stripes encircle a sizable flower centered within the basin; a band of crosshatching is shown along the bottom inside of the walls. Size: 7.8" W x 3" H (19.8 cm x 7.6 cm)
