Description:

Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, Nayarit, ca. 300 BCE to 300 CE. A beautiful, hand-built anthropomorphic seated female figure with delineated legs, rotund thighs, a slender waist, and sinuous arms. She exhibits a characteristic heart-shaped head with a minimalist visage comprised of coffee-bean-shaped eyes, a petite nose adorned with a nose ring, perforated hooped ears near her neck, and a small slit mouth. Her body is detailed with red-painted details atop a cream-hued ground. Interestingly, this polydactyly example displays six stylized toes, rather than five, on each of her broad feet. Size: 5" H (12.7 cm).
